Let me start by saying this, what an absolutely special place.
The people, the islands, the landscape, the culture. If you ever find yourself near Palawan, please go.
We started our 20 hr travel from Salt Lake, connected in Portland, Tokyo and then Manila. We then spent one night in Manila and headed off to El Nino, Palawan the next morning. (A quick moment of appreciation for AirSwift, they are incredibly kind, accommodating and wonderful to fly with.)
Once we arrived in El Nido, we took a 20 minute “cab” ride (a motorcycle with a side car) to our AirBnB cottage, where we stayed for 3 nights. I’m attaching the link here if you ever want to stay!
From there, (the highlight of the trip) we arrived at a private resort on a secluded island for one of Gene’s long time friends’ wedding. Lagen Island is truly what you see in a movie. The water cottages, the incredible staff that are beyond welcoming, and the amazing views. We were here for only two nights and it was unforgettable.
After LAgen, we hopped around at a couple different locations before heading back to Manila and making our way back to the states.
These photos are so precious to me, as many of them were taken on my Grandmothers old film camera she gifted to me. It has seen so many faces and traveled around the world so many times, to be able to document my own journey on it was so special.
Enjoy! (+ let me know where to go next 😉 )
Until next time, Asia.
